Dhansak
Ingredients
- ½ kg chicken
- 1 eggplant
- 1 onion
- 3 tomatoes
- 250 grams pimpkin
- 1 bunch spinach
- 3 glasses water
- 20 grams arar ki daal
- 20 grams masoor ki daal
- 20 gram chaney ki daal
- ¼ cup clarified butter
- 1 onion
- 3 sliced green chilies
- 1 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- ½ tsp cinnamon powder
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- 4 tbsp oil
- fresh coriander as required
- Mint as required
- 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- Salt to taste
Method
- Soak 20 grams arar ki daal, 20 grams masoor kid daal, 20 grams chanay ki daal and 20 grams moong ki daal for one hour.
- In a cooking pot, allow lentils to cook in 3 glasses water and salt to taste.
- In a separate pan, heat ¼ cup clarified butter and sauté 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste in it.
- Then add ½ kg chicken and sauce until it turns golden brown.
- Then shift chicken to lentils mixture.
- Now add 1 eggplant, 250 grams pumpkin, 1 bunch spinach, 1 onion and 3 tomatoes to a cooking pot and stir on high flame.
- When it comes to a boil again, decrease flame and allow to cook for 15-20 min.
- Take out chicken from the mixture and put aside.
- Chop lentils and vegetable mixture in a chooper machine to form a paste.
- In a separate pan, heat 4 tbsp oil and sauce chopped onion in it unitl it turns golden brown.
- Then add 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste and 3 chopped green chilies to it and stir for 2 to 3 min.
- Now add ½ tsp cinnamon powder, ½ tsp cardamom powder, ½ tsp ground cloves, 1 tbsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp coriander powder and 1 tbsp red chili powder,
- Stir for 2-3 min. and add 1 cup water
- When excess water evaporated and oil forms a separate layer, add vegetable and lentils paste on high flame.
- When it is about to reach boiling point, decrease flame and allowto cooke for 10-15 min.
- Now add chicken pieces and stir on high flame for a couple of minutes.
- Take out in serving dish and sprinkle coriander on top of it.
- Ready to serve.
Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae
- 250 grams plain flour
- 6 eggs
- 250 kg sugar
- 50 grams cocoa powder
- 15 grams baking powder
- 15 grams white butter
- 100 cooking chocolate
- 50 grams walnuts
- 50 grams raisins
- ½ cup fresh cream
- Topping
- 250 grams icing sugar
- 25 grams plain flour
- ½ cup apple jam
- ½ liter vanilla ice cream
Method
- Add 6 eggs and 250 grams sugar to bowl and mix well.
- Now add 350 grams white butter and 50 grams cocoa butter and mix well.
- Then add 250 grams plain flour and 15 grams baking powder and fold.
- Spread the mixture on a greasy baking tray.
- Bake in a pre heated oven at 200c for 35-40 min.
- Cut brownie into desired shape and size.
- Coat with melted cooking chocolate, sprinkle icing sugar and put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top,
- Ready to serve

- umamah thanx for the nihari feedback. I am also keen about posting oif cream roll recipe. I think it will involve making or using puff pastry.
