Khatta Daal Gosht by Chef Gulzar

Ingredients:

  • Beef with fat 1/2 kg
  • Masoor daal 250 gm
  • Moong daal 250 gm
  • Spinach 150 gm
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Onion 2
  • Green chilies 5-6
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • All spice powder 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Whole cumin 1 tsp
  • Whole red chilies 4-5
  • Curry leaves few
  • Garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Tamarind paste 4 tbsp
  • Butter 4 tbsp
  • Oil 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. For daal: Heat oil in pan and fry ginger garlic paste and onion.
  2. Then roast beef, add water as required and tender it.
  3. Then keep it aside.
  4. Now put masoor daal and moong daal in pot.
  5. Then put red chili powder, all spice powder, salt, garlic paste and little water and cook it.
  6. Now put butter in pan and saute finely chopped spinach nicely.
  7. Then add in daal and cook for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Now stir it, then add green chilies and tamarind paste, mix it nicely, add beef and cover for 5 minutes.
  9. Then take out in serving bowl.
  10. For bhagar: Put butter and oil in pan, put mustard seeds, whole cumin and curry leaves and make bhagar.
  11. Then put on daal and serve.

Khatta Daal Gosht is a Sour Recipe. It is Hyderabadi Cuisine and its Origin is South Asia. It is usually served with Rice.
