Chicken Shinwari Karahi by Farzana Anwar

Ingredients:

  • Chicken 1 kg
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Yogurt 1/4 cup
  • Finely chopped onion 1/2 cup
  • Chopped tomatoes 2 cups
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 2 tsp
  • Crushed coriander seeds 2 tsp
  • Crushed cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Finely chopped green chilies 2 tbsp
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnish
  • Green chilies slice for garnish
  • Ginger julienne for garnish
  • Karahi masala powder for garnish

Method:

  1. Heat oil in wok and stir fry chopped onion until light golden.
  2. Now put ginger garlic paste and stir for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Then add chicken and stir it slightly for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Then put tomatoes with salt, red chili powder, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and 1/2 cup water and simmer it for 25-30 minutes until chicken tender.
  5. Now add yogurt and chopped green chilies and mix for 5-6 minutes till oil separates.
  6. Then put coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger and karahi masala powder.
