Ingredients:

  • Mutton 500 gm
  • Ghee or Oil 1/4 cup
  • Onion 2
  • Garlic 2 tsp
  • Ginger 1 tbsp
  • Tomato 2
  • Yogurt 1/4 cup
  • Cinnamon 1
  • Whole black pepper 8-10
  • Cloves 3
  • Whole cumin 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • Tara garam masala 1 tsp
  • Saffron 1 tsp
  • Ginger 2 tsp
  • Green chilies 3-4
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  • Green cardamom 2-3

Method:

  1. Heat oil in pan, fry onion, black pepper and cumin until brown, add mutton, ginger, garlic and tomato and cook it.
  2. Then add yogurt, salt, red chili powder, turmeric and water, cover pan and tender meat.
  3. When oil separates from gravy, add tara garam masala and saffron and simmer it.
  4. Then garnish with green chilies, ginger and coriander leaves and serve.

Zafrani Shorba is amazing gravy dish. It is prepared with mutton & it has delicious flavor of saffron.
