Daal Masala

Ingredients:

  • Boiled whole red masoor daal 2 cups
  • Onion 1
  • Tomatoes 6
  • Curry leaves 6
  • Green chilies 6
  • Tamarind pulp 1/2 cup
  • Red chili powder 2 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • Chopped garlic 2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves as required
  • Green chilies as required
  • Oil 1/2 cup

Method:

  1. Heat oil in pan and fry onion until brown.
  2. Now put tomatoes, curry leaves, tamarind pulp, red chili powder, salt, turmeric, cumin and chopped garlic and roast it.
  3. Then add daal and mix it.
  4. Then put green chilies and coriander leaves and simmer it for 10 minutes.

Daal Masala is delicious daal. Red masoor daal is used to prepare this dish. It is served with rice.
