Scotch Egg, Garlic Whirl And Fruity Rice by Chef Gulzar

Ingredients for Fruity Rice:

  • Tutti fruiti 1 tin
  • Basmati rice 2 cup
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Warm milk 1/2 cup
  • Clove 3-4
  • Cinnamon 3-4 sticks
  • Small cardamom 2-3
  • Dry fruit 1/2 cup
  • Yellow food color a pinch
  • Clarified butter 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. First wash rice and soak it.
  2. Then put ghee in pan, heat it and put cloves, cinnamons, cardamom and saute it.
  3. Then add 2-1/2 cup water and put rice and add half tin of tutti fruiti.
  4. Now make mixture of sugar and 1/2 cup water.
  5. When rice is ready, add syrup and mix it nicely.
  6. After it, mix milk and yellow food color nicely.
  7. Now put on side of rice and keep for simmer  
  8. When rice is ready, garnish with remaining fruits and dry fruits and serve it.

Ingredients for Scotch Egg:

  • Boiled eggs 4-5
  • Chicken boneless 300 gm
  • Garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp
  • Flour 1-2 tbsp
  • Green onion 1-2 sticks
  • Eggs (beaten) 1-2
  • Bread crumbs 1 cup
  • Oil 3-4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Boil eggs hard.
  2. Then remove its upper layer and leave it to be cool.
  3. Now add chicken, garlic paste, chopped black pepper, worcestershire sauce, flour, green onions and salt in chopper and make paste.
  4. Now coat eggs with this mixture.
  5. Then dip coated eggs into beaten eggs.
  6. Then coat in bread crumbs and fry them.
  7. After that, take it out in serving dish and decorate with salad leaves.
  8. Scotch eggs are ready.

Ingredients for Garlic Whirl:

  • Flour 1/2 kg
  • Garlic powder 1 tbsp
  • Clarified butter 4 tbsp
  • Oil to fry
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. In one bowl, put flour, clarified butter, garlic powder and salt, knead it and leave for 1 hour.
  2. Now roll roti into one thin layer and cut into thin pieces with knife.
  3. Then turn round from center.
  4. Heat oil in pan and fry it.
  5. In end, take out and serve.
