Ingredients for Dum Ki Arvi:

  • Colocasia 1/2 kg
  • Mustard oil 1 cup
  • Lemons 2
  • Green chilies 4
  • Fenugreek seeds as required
  • Curry leaves as required
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Onion seeds 1 tsp
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • Carom seeds 1 tsp
  • Red chili flakes 1 tbsp
  • Tamarind paste 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Wash colocasia nicely and boil with skin. When tender, cool it, peel its skin and keep whole.
  2. Now put peeled whole colocasia in one bowl, put turmeric, red chili flakes, carom seeds, salt, tamarind paste, lemon juice, onion seeds and cumin and mix it nicely.
  3. Then heat oil and add fenugreek seeds. When fragrance comes, put masala colocasia and roast for 5 minutes.
  4. Now keep on simmer for 5 minuted. Delicious dum ki arvi is ready. Serve with hot puri.
