Steam Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

  • Small loaf 1 (24 hours old bread)
  • Plums (raisins) 3 oz
  • Almonds 1 oz
  • Eggs 2 or Big egg 1
  • Sugar 4 oz
  • Nutmeg little
  • Vanilla essence 1/2 tsp
  • Milk 2 oz
  • Butter 1 oz

Method:

  1. Soak whole bread.
  2. Mix soaked bread, washed plums, almonds, lightly beaten eggs, 3 oz sugar, a little scraped nut meg (for fragrance), 1/2 tsp vanilla, milk and 1 oz of burnt sugar (boil 1 oz. of sugar and then add a little water).
  3. This is boiled syrup. It is added in order to give the color.
  4. Grease bowl with butter and put this mixture into it.
  5. Spread some butter over it or mix it with the mixture.
  6. Take a grease paper and cover bowl.
  7. Boil some water in a sauce pan.
  8. Keep a steamer above sauce pan with pudding mixture inside.
  9. The pudding will get cooked in steam of water.
  10. It takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to cook.
  11. When it is ready, let it cool and then turn out from bowl.
