Chicken Dalcha

Ingredients:

  • Chicken (16 pieces) 1 kg
  • Chana daal 250 gm
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Green chilies 4
  • Cloves 6
  • Cinnamon 1 inch
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Brown onion 1/2 cup
  • Ginger garlic 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies 6
  • Red chili powder 3 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1-1/2 tsp
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Lemon juice 1/4 cup
  • Whole coriander 2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves 45-50

For Bhagar:

  • Ghee 1/4 cup
  • Chopped garlic 1 tbsp
  • Whole red chilies 6

Method:

  1. Heat 1/2 cup oil, put clove, cinnamon, bay leaf, brown onion, ginger garlic and chicken and fry for 2 minutes.
  2. Now put salt, red chili powder, turmeric, whole coriander and yogurt and fry more.
  3. Then add 3 cups water, put potli of curry leaves, cover it and simmer until chicken tender.
  4. Now take put potli, add lemon juice and grinded chana daal and cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Then put 6 green chilies and bhagar and serve.

Chicken Dalcha is traditional Indian dish. It is delicious gravy dish. You can prepare with any meat with lentils. Make it at home.
