Baisan Ki Khandviyaan Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Coriander leaves 1 bunch
  • Lemons 2
  • Onion paste 2
  • Green chilies 4
  • Fenugreek seeds 6
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Soda bi carbonate 1/2 tsp
  • Carom seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tbsp
  • Gram flour 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Mix gram flour, carom seeds, all spice powder, soda, salt and lemon juice in yogurt.
  2. Then put in oil, stir it on low flame and roast like halwa.
  3. Then grease thal with oil, spread like halwa, cool it and cut into square pieces.
  4. Then put heat oil in wide & deep pot and put fenugreek seeds.
  5. When aroma comes, add onion paste, carom seeds, red chili powder, ginger garlic paste, all spice powder and salt, roast it slightly, put water and leave on low flame.
  6. In mean while, deep fry khandviyaan until golden brown, take it out and put in shorba.
  7. Now add coriander leaves chopped and simmer it on low flame.
  8. When oil comes up, serve it.

Baisan Ki Khandviyaan is Gujarati, Indian dish. Khandviyaan is prepared with gram flour & yogurt and roasted. Cooled, cut into square pieces and deep fried. Then put in shorba and served.
