For Gulab Jamun:

  • Powdered milk 2 cup
  • Maida 3 tbsp
  • Semolina 2 tbsp
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Green cardamom powder 4
  • Ghee 2-3 tbsp
  • Pistachios for garnish
  • Almonds for garnish

For Sugar Syrup:

  • Sugar 2 cups
  • Water 1 cup
  • Kewra essence few drops


  1. For sugar syrup: Put sugar and water in pan and cook until thick.
  2. Now add kewra essence, mix it and remove it.
  3. Syrup is ready.
  4. For gulab jamun: Put milk powder, maida, semolina baking powder, ghee and green cardamom powder in bowl and knead it.
  5. Now make balls.
  6. Then heat oil in pan on medium flame, put balls and fry it until brown..
  7. Now take it out and put in syrup immediately.
  8. Then take out gulab jamun in serving dish, garnish with pistachios & almonds and serve.

Gulab Jamun is very popular and common sweet dish in Pakistan. It is prepared with powdered milk, maida & semolina and kneaded. Then made balls and deep fried in oil. Then dipped in sugar syrup, garnished with almonds & pistachios and served. It is served in parties and given as gift on Eid.
