Paneer Pakora Recipe

Paneer Pakora is very popular Punjabi, Indian snack dish. It is crispy and delicious snack dish. You must try this recipe at home and surprise your family. You can also add more ingredients as per requirements.


  • Cottage cheese 1 cup
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • All spice powder 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat masala 1/2 tsp + for sprinkle
  • Coriander powder 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste

For Batter:

  • Gram flour 1 cup
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida 1 pinch
  • Carom seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water 1/2 cup
  • Oil for frying

For Serving:

  • Tomato ketchup to serve
  • Green chutney to serve
  • Chili garlic sauce to serve
  • Tamarind chutney to serve


  1. Cut cottage cheese into cubes.
  2. Then put cheese cubes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, all spice powder, chaat masala, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt in bowl and toss it nicely.
  3. For batter: Put gram flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida and carom seeds in bowl.
  4. Then mix with water nicely until thick.
  5. Then heat oil in wok.
  6. Then dip each cheese cubes in gram flour batter and gently put in hot oil.
  7. Then deep fry pakoray on medium flame until golden brown and crisp.
  8. Then take it out and keep on absorbent paper to drain excess oil.
  9. Then take out in dish, sprinkle chaat masala and serve hot with tea and tomato ketchup or chili garlic sauce or green chutney or tamarind chutney or any sauce you want.

Paneer Pakora is tasty dish. Cottage cheese cubes is tossed with spices. Then dipped in gram flour & spices batter and deep fried. Serve with tea and any kind of sauce or chutney.
