Ingredients for Shoal Sheesh Mehel:

  • Chicken 16 pieces 1 cut
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Roasted cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1-1/2 tsp
  • All spice 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • Brown onion grinded 4 tbsp
  • Green chillies whole 8
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Coriander leaves 4 tbsp
  • Mint leaves 15
  • Brown lentil 1 cup
  • Boiled eggs 3
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Potatoes 3
  • Rice (boiled)
  • Whole spices 1 tbsp
  • Kewra Saffron As required

Method:

  1. Marinate chicken with ginger garlic paste chilli powder, roasted cumin, salt, turmeric. coriander powder, brown onion, green chillies, coriander leaves and mint leaves for 2 hours.
  2. In a large pan, put 1/2 cup oil. Spread the marinated chicken,  top with boiled lentils, fried potatoes and hard boiled eggs. Top with boiled rice.
  3. Then add saffron and kewra mixture and remaining 1/2 cup oil. Cover pan and cook on high flame for 10 minutes. Then lower the flame and cook for 20 minutes. Serve with raita and kachomar.
