Ingredients for Dum Pukht:

  • Chicken 1-1/2 kg
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Lemons 4
  • Almonds 8
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • White cumin 1 tsp
  • Black peppercorn 1 tsp
  • Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
  • Ginger powder 2 tbsp
  • Chicken tikka masala 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Grind white cumin an black peppercorn thick thick.
  2. Mix almonds and poppy seeds and grind it.
  3. Wash chicken nicely.
  4. Now mix ginger powder, black pepper, cumin, chicken tikka masala, salt, almond and poppy seed with yogurt in one bowl.
  5. Now marinate chicken with this yogurt with the help of lemon and keep for 30 minutes.
  6. Then put masala chicken in center of one pot, cover it and cook it.
  7. When water becomes to dry, put 1/2 cup oil and keep on simmer.
  8. Stir chicken until it becomes golden brown on all sides nicely.
  9. When it is roasted nicely, then dum pukht chicken is ready.
  10. Serve with hot naan and tamarind chutney.
