Ingredients:

  • Colocasia 1/2 kg
  • Mustard oil 1 cup
  • Lemons 2
  • Chopped green chilies 4
  • Mustard seeds few
  • Curry leaves few
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Onion seeds 1 tsp
  • White cumin 1 tsp
  • Carom seeds 1 tsp
  • Red chili flakes 1 tbsp
  • Tamarind paste 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Wash colocasia nicely and boil with skin. When tendered, chill it, peel it and keep whole.
  2. Now put peeled colocasia in bowl, put turmeric, red chili flakes, carom seeds, salt, tamarind paste, lemon juice, onion seeds and white cumin and mix it nicely.
  3. Then heat 1 cup oil and add mustard seeds. When fragrance comes, put masala colocasia and roast for 5 minutes.
  4. Then keep on simmer for 5 minutes. Delicious colocasia is ready. Serve with hot puri.
