Ingredients:

For Gravy:

  • Chicken 1/2 kg
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Sliced onion 1
  • Yogurt 250 gm
  • Small cardamom 3-4
  • Cinnamon 2-3 sticks
  • Star anise 2-3 sticks
  • Whole red chilies 6-8
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • Oil 2-3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

For Rice:

  • Rice 300 gm
  • Cloves 4-5
  • Cinnamon 2-3 sticks
  • Big cardamom 2-3
  • Star anise 3-4 flowers
  • Whole cumin 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

For Layers:

  • Yogurt 2-3 tbsp
  • Sliced tomatoes 1
  • Sliced lemon 1
  • Saffron essence few drops
  • Food color 1 pinch

Method:

  1. For rice: Wash rice, clean it and soak it for 2-3 hours.
  2. Put water as required in pot.
  3. Make potli of all whole mix spices and put in pot.
  4. When water boils and fragrance comes, add rice, boil 1/4, take it out and strain it.
  5. Then keep it aside.
  6. For korma: Heat oil and fry onion and ginger garlic paste.
  7. Now add chicken and roast it.
  8. When color changes, add yogurt and roast it.
  9. Add water as required, make potli of all whole mix spices, put in it and cook it.
  10. When stock of chicken becomes, take put potli and dry water. Korma is ready.
  11. For making layers: Spread yogurt, tomatoes and lemon slices in pot.
  12. Then put rice and korma and make layers.
  13. Mix saffron essence and yellow color, add in it and keep on simmer.
  14. When simmer is completed, dish out it and serve.
