Roasted Almond Naan Khatai by Shireen Anwer

Ingredients:

  • Ghee 7 oz
  • Caster sugar 6 oz
  • Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  • Almonds with skin 3/4 cup
  • Flour 12 oz
  • Baking powder 2 tsp
  • Baking soda 1/2 tsp
  • Egg yolks 2
  • Water 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Melt ghee and cool it until set.
  2. Beat ghee and caster sugar until light and creamy.
  3. Then add cardamom powder and beat until it is white.
  4. Then strain flour, baking powder and baking soda.
  5. Now put in ghee and sugar mixture with almonds, mix it nicely, make 1 dough and knead it nicely.
  6. Now roll it, cut with cutter.
  7. Then mix egg yolks with water and brush it.
  8. In end, bake at 160 degrees C for 15 until light golden and crisp.
