Ingredients:

  • Green chilies 1/2 kg
  • Coriander seeds 2 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds 2 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  • Coconut 1
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Onion paste 3
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Onion seeds 1 tsp
  • Tamarind pulp 1 cup

For Bhagar:

  • Red chili 6
  • Curry leaves few
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek few
  • Tamarind pulp 1 cup
  • Oil 1 cup

Method:

  1. Roast coriander seeds, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, cumin seeds and coconut on tawa or frying pan and grind it.
  2. Wash green chilies nicely and keep it in strainer so that water dries.
  3. Now heat oil in pot, mix green chilies with some salt and fry it lightly.
  4. Then take out fried green chilies, put red chili, fenugreek, curry leaves and cumin seeds and fry it.
  5. Now add onion paste and fry until light pink.
  6. Then put turmeric, ginger garlic paste, roasted masalay, chilies, salt, curry leaves, tamarind pulp and onion seeds and simmer it on low flame.
  7. When oil comes up, mirchon ka salan is ready.
