Ingredients:

  • Sugar 2 cups
  • Ghee 1 cup
  • Eggs 6
  • Flour 8 tbsp
  • Malai 1 cup
  • Semolina 2 cups
  • Cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Saffron 1/2 tsp
  • Rose water 2 tbsp
  • Almond & Pistachio (sliced) 2 tbsp each
  • Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
  • Baking powder 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Beat sugar and ghee until light and fluffy.
  2. Now add malai and eggs and beat more.
  3. Then fold flour, semolina, baking powder, rose water, cardamom powder and saffron in this mixture.
  4. Now put this mixture in greased oven tray and bake on mark number 4 for 40-45 minutes.

Roat is traditional Afghan sweet bread. It is prepared with flour & semolina and baked in oven.
