Brown Sugar Brownies by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:

  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Flour 1 cup
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Unsalted butter 8 oz
  • Chopped chocolate 5 oz
  • Brown sugar 2 cups
  • Eggs 3
  • Vanilla essence 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Mix flour, baking powder and salt and set aside.
  2. Put butter and chocolate in bowl over pan of simmering water and let melt.
  3. Set aside to cool once melted.
  4. Beat brown sugar into butter and chocolate mixture.
  5. Add in eggs one by one.
  6. Add vanilla essence too.
  7. Mix in flour mixture but do not use beater.
  8. Spoon into greased and floured tin or pyrex dish and bake at 180 degrees C for 30 minutes or until a skewer or toothpick comes put with a few crumbs attaches to it.
  9. Cool in tin and then cut in squares and serve.
