Badami Gosht by Chef Gulzar

Ingredients:

  • Beef (with bone) 1 kg
  • Cinnamon 2-3 sticks
  • Chopped garlic 5-6
  • Black cardamoms seeds 1 tsp
  • Finely chopped onion 1 tsp
  • Finely chopped ginger 1 inch
  • Yogurt 1/4 cup
  • Saffron 1 pinch
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Almond paste 1/2 cup
  • Desiccated coconut 4-5 tbsp
  • Whole red chili 2-3
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Almonds for garnish

Method:

  1. Heat oil in pot and add cinnamon and cardamom seeds.
  2. When it crackles, put onion, ginger and garlic and fry it.
  3. Then put beef. roast for 3-4 minutes, add water as required and cook until beef tender.
  4. When beef tender, put yogurt, saffron and red chili and mix it nicely.
  5. Now put almond paste and whole red chili and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
  6. Then mix coconut and cook for 5-6 minutes.
  7. When gravy is thick, take out in dish, garnish with almonds and serve.
