Ingredients:

  • Mutton 1/2 kg
  • Mustard oil 1 cup
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Finely chopped onions 3
  • Lemons 3
  • Boiled potato 4
  • Green chilies 4
  • Fresh red pepper crushed 8
  • Cardamom 1 tsp
  • Black pepper crushed 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic chopped 1 tbsp
  • Whole Coriander 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Peel potatoes, cut into cubes, heat oil in frying pan and fry potatoes until brown.
  2. Now put mustard oil in pot, fry onion until golden brown and take out half.
  3. Then put mutton, salt, turmeric and ginger and cook it.
  4. When water of meat dries, put red chilies, whole coriander, cinnamon, black pepper and bay leaf and roast it.
  5. Then put 2 to 2-1/2 cups hot water and tender meat.
  6. When meat tender, put fried potatoes, green chilies and lemon juice and simmer it.
  7. Serve Bengali curry with plain rice.
