Ingredients:

  • Moong daal 1/2 cup
  • Masoor daal 1/2 cup
  • Chana daal 1/2 cup
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1-1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Oil 1/4 cup
  • Finely chopped spinach 1/2 cup
  • Chopped soy 1/2 bunch
  • Chopped methi 3 bunch
  • Chopped onion 1 cup
  • Chopped bottle gourd (small pieces) 200 gm
  • Chopped ginger 1 tbsp
  • Chopped green chilies 4
  • Keri 1/4 cup
  • Stock cubes 2

For Bhagar:

  • Oil 1/4 cup
  • Butter 1/4 cup
  • Curry leaves 15
  • Cumin 1-1/2 tsp
  • Whole red chilies 6
  • Lemon juice 1/4 cup

Method:

  1. Soak all daal for 2 hours.
  2. Then put in pan and boil with salt, red chili powder, turmeric, oil and butter until daal tender.
  3. Then add spinach, soy, methi, onion, bottle gourd, ginger, green chilies and keri with 2 cup water and stock and cook until vegetable tender.
  4. Then give bhagar of bhagar ingredients.

Okhai Daal is Okhai Memon dish. It is delicious dish. You must try this variety of daal at home. It is served with rice.
