Ingredients:

Base:

  • ¾ Tbsp yeast
  • ½ cup lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1tsp salt
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 1 ½ cup flour

Topping:

  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, mashed fry a little
  • ¾ cup tomato puree
  • ¼ tsp chilli powder
  • Pinch oregano
  • 1 cup fried mushrooms
  • ½ cup chopped capsicums
  • ½ cup grated cheese

Method:

For Base:

  1. Sprinkle yeast over lukewarm water and leave till frothy.
  2. Add sugar, salt and butter in the water.
  3. Then beat in the flour.
  4. Knead well the mixture, form dough into a ball and place in a bowl greased with butter.
  5. Cover the bowl with wet cloth or plastic sheet and leave to rise for 1 hour.
  6. Grease a 9” flat baking tray with butter. Stretch the dough to fit the tray and brush lightly with oil.

For Topping:

  1. Heat 1 tsp oil.
  2. Add onion, garlic and tomato puree and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Let it cool and then add chilli powder and oregano.
  4. Spread the prepared puree on the dough. Cover with mushrooms, capsicums and top it with grated cheese.
  5. Bake at 180 C for 20 minutes till crisp.
  6. Serve hot.

Delicious and easy to prepare home made pizza.
