Mince Meat Kitchdi
Ingredients
- ½ kg rice
- ½ kg mince meat
- 250 gram tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 2 bay leaves
- 8 green chilies
- 1 bunch mint
- 1 cup red lentils
- ½ cup oil
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp whole black peppers
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp red chili flakes
- 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
Method
- Soak 1 cup lentils and ½ kg rice separately for half an hour.
- In an pan, heat ½ cup oil and sauté a chopped onion in it.
- Then add 2 tsp ginger garlic paste, soaked lentils, 250 grams tomatoes, 1 tbsp red chili flakes, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp whole black peppers and 2 bay leaves.
- And allow cooking on low flame for 20 minutes.
- Then add soaked rice and 2 glasses of water and cook on low flame for half an hour.
- When water has dried up, turn off the flame and sprinkle mint leave on top.
- Ready to serve.
