Ingredients for Fish Fry South Indian Style:

  • Surmai fish 1 kg slice
  • Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander 1 tsp
  • Red chili 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves 10- 12 pcs
  • Chopped coriander 2 tbsp
  • Green chili 4-6 pcs
  • Ginger 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic 1 tsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Put all the masala in bowl and mix them.
  2. Now marinate fish with masala.
  3. Fry it lightly in a fry pan.
  4. Sprinkle oil on the fish and fry it from both sides.
  5. When ready, serve hot.

Ingredients for Baked Fish:

  • Whole fish 1 piece
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Red chili 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Garlic 8 cloves
  • Soya 2 tbsp
  • Coriander 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 3 tbsp
  • Olive oil 2 tbsp
  • Onion 1
  • Tomato 1
  • Potato 1
  • Capsicum 1
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • French loaf bread 1

Method:

  1. Grind coriander powder, red chili, salt, garlic, soya, green coriander thickly. Then mix olive oil in it.
  2. Wash the fish nicely, dry it and make cuts on both sides.
  3. Fill fish with masala.
  4. Cut potato, tomato, capsicum and onion in 1 inch piece and place it into baking tray.
  5. Sprinkle lemon on top and put fish in it.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes in oven.
  7. Take out and serve with french loaf bread.

  • I have tried the baked fish; I added curry leaves and whole coriander seeds along with the rest of the ingredients. Very tasty fish.
