Ingredients:

  • Beef with bone 1/2 kg
  • Ginger garlic slices 2 tbsp
  • Chopped tomatoes 2
  • Potatoes 3-4
  • Chopped carrot 1
  • Onion slices 1
  • Tamarind pulp 2-3 tbsp
  • Malay powder 2 tbsp
  • Crushed nutmeg 1/3 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Oil 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • All spice powder 1/2 tsp

For Malay Powder:

  • Coriander seeds 5 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 2 tbsp
  • Fennel seeds 2 tbsp
  • Whole red chilies 5-6
  • Black pepper 4 tbsp
  • Cinnamon 4-5
  • Cardamom 4-5
  • Cloves 4-5
  • Turmeric powder 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. For malay powder: Foment all ingredients except turmeric on tawa, crush and make powder.
  2. Then add turmeric and mix it.
  3. For malay beef: Heat oil in pan, put ginger garlic and fry it.
  4. Then add beef with bone and fry it.
  5. Then put all spice powder, salt, nutmeg, fenugreek seeds and malay powder, mix it and roast it.
  6. Then put onion, tomatoes, potatoes, carrot and water as required, mix it and cook until meat and vegetables tender.
  7. Then put tamarind paste and mix it.
  8. When gravy is thick, take out in dish, garnish with green chilies and serve.

Malay Beef is Spicy Malaysian Cuisine prepared with Beef, Spices & Vegetables, garnished with Green Chilies and is usually served with Rice.
