Fried Crunchy Dumpling

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 3 tbsp custard powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp lard
  • 3 tbsp peanut oil
  • 1/3 cup water

Filling:

  • 38g peanuts
  • 38g white sesame seeds
  • 38g flaked coconut
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar

Method:

  1. Stir fry peanuts along with washed sesame seeds.
  2. Mix with flaked coconut and granulated sugar to form filing.
  3. Sift plain flour and custard powder. Form a hollow in center. Slowly add lard, peanut oil, granulated sugar and water.
  4. Knead into soft dough. Shape into thin sheet. Mould into round shapes. Put in a suitable amount of filling.
  5. Fold up and press firmly. Make lace round and edge. Deep fry over low heat until golden.
