Masala Bhindi Recipe

Masala Bhindi is tasty dish. Try this recipe at home and you can it more spicy or less spicy as per your taste.

Ingredients:

  • Bhindi 2 kg
  • Onion slices 1 kg + 2 large
  • Tomato slices 9
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Kalonji 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1-1/2 tsp
  • Crushed red chilies 2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1-1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Button red chilies 8-9
  • Green chilies slices 4
  • Garlic slices 2
  • Coriander leaves handful
  • Oil 1/2 cup

Direction:

  1. Heat oil in pan, put bhindi and fry on high flame until crisp.
  2. Then keep on strainer to drain excess oil.
  3. Now put 1 kg onion slices in this oil and fry on high flame until light brown and soft.
  4. Then keep on strainer to drain excess oil.
  5. In other pan, heat oil.
  6. Put 2 onion slices and fry until golden on high flame.
  7. Now add tomato slices, kalonji, cumin seeds, crushed red chilies, red chili powder, button red chilies, turmeric and salt and cook on high flame until tomatoes are soft.
  8. Then add 1 cup water and bring to boil on high flame.
  9. Now cover it and cook on medium flame until oil comes on surface.
  10. Then add garlic slices, mix it nicely and cook for 1 to 2 minutes on high flame.
  11. Now add fried onions and bhindi and mix it nicely.
  12. Then add green chilies slices, coriander leaves and garam masala powder, cover it and simmer it on low flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  13. When ready, take out in serving bowl and serve with parathay or naan or roti.

Masala Bhindi is spicy dish. Bhindi is fried and kept aside. Then simmered with onion, tomato & spices masala, garlic slices, green chilies and coriander leaves. Then serve with parathay or naan or roti.
