Ingredients:

  • Mutton 1 kg
  • Chopped onion 1
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Tomato puree 1 cup
  • Cream 1/2 cup
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Dry milk 1/2 cup
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Nutmeg 1/4 tsp
  • Mace 1/4 tsp
  • All spice powder 1/2 tsp
  • Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  • Kewra 2 tbsp
  • Oil as required

Method:

  1. Marinate mutton with salt, red chili powder, ginger garlic paste, tomato puree and yogurt.
  2. Now cover it and leave for 30 minutes.
  3. Then heat oil and fry onion until golden.
  4. Now put marinated mutton and 2 glass water, cover it and cook on low flame until meat tender and water dries.
  5. Then do flame high, add dry milk and stir it for 5 minutes.
  6. Now put cream, all spice powder, nutmeg, mace and cardamom powder, mix it nicely and simmer it for 5 minutes.
  7. Then put kewra and serve hot with naan.

Shahi Gosht is delicious & classic dish. It is prepared with marinated mutton and served with hot naan.
