Guava Stew With Custard

Ingredients:

  • Guava 1 pound
  • Sugar 4 oz
  • Cinnamon 2
  • Sour lime 1
  • Cochineal (red color) if required
  • Custard powder 2 tbsp
  • Milk 10 oz or ½ pint
  • Sugar 2 oz

Method:

  1. Peel thinly guavas and cut into two.
  2. Boil with one big cup of water in bowl, till seeds are on point of coming out.
  3. Remove from flame.
  4. Let them cool, take out seeds with spoon and knife and put again in same bowl.
  5. Do not throw away the liquid.
  6. Add sugar, lime juice and cinnamon, put onto bowl and till they become soft.
  7. For Custard: Heat milk.
  8. Mix custard powder with little water and pour into hot milk.
  9. Before this, add sugar into milk.
  10. Keep on stirring.
  11. After a little while, when it begins to thicken, take off.
  12. Fruit should be served in a glass dish and custard in a jug separately.
  13. When serve, pour custard over fruit.
