 Pasanday Masala

 Ingredients


  • 50 grams cumin seeds (zeeera)
  • 50 grams grated coconut (pisa khopra)
  • 50 grams poppy seeds (khashkhas)
  • 6 cardamoms (elaichi)
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp whole black peppers
  • ½ tsp each of nutmeg,  mace (jaifal , javetri)
  • ½ tsp citric acid (taatri)
  • 2 tbsp red pepper powder

Method

  1. On a tawa, stir together 50 grams cmin seeds, 50 grams grated coconut, 50 grams poppy seeds, ½ tsp nutmeg and mace, 6 carmamoms and1 tbsp whole black peppers.
  2. Then add 2 tbsp red chili powder, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp salt and ½ tsp citric acid and mix.
  3. Preserve in a jar and use 1 tbsp for ½ kg pasanday
