Mince Meat Kitchdi

Ingredients

  • ½ kg rice
  • ½ kg mince meat
  • 250 gram tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 8 green chilies
  • 1 bunch mint
  • 1 cup red lentils
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp whole black peppers
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp red chili flakes
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste

Method

  1. Soak 1 cup lentils and ½ kg rice separately for half an hour.
  2. In an pan, heat ½ cup oil and sauté a chopped onion in it.
  3. Then add 2 tsp ginger garlic paste, soaked lentils, 250 grams tomatoes, 1 tbsp red chili flakes, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp whole black peppers and 2 bay leaves.
  4. And allow cooking on low flame for 20 minutes.
  5. Then add soaked rice and 2 glasses of water and cook on low flame for half an hour.
  6. When water has dried up, turn off the flame and sprinkle mint leave on top.
  7. Ready to serve.
