Vanilla Glazed Doughnuts by Shireen Anwer

Ingredients:

  • Milk 3/4 cup
  • Unsalted butter 3 oz
  • Flour 3-1/4 cup
  • Fine sugar 3 oz
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Instant yeast 2-1/2 tsp
  • Eggs 2
  • Vanilla 1/2 tsp

For Vanilla Glaze:

  • Unsalted butter 6 tbsp
  • Icing sugar 2-1/2 cup
  • Vanilla essence 1/2 tsp
  • Hot water 5 tbsp

Method:

  1. Put milk and unsalted butter in sauce pan and heat until it melts.
  2. Now remove from stove.
  3. Mix flour, sugar, salt and instant yeast together in mixing bowl, beat on high speed and mix it.
  4. Now put hot milk mixture and beat on medium speed until it blend well.
  5. Then add eggs and vanilla and beat for 2 minutes until it is mixed.
  6. Now put remaining milk and beat for 1 minute so that it becomes soft dough.
  7. Then take out dough in greased bowl and leave it on warm place for 45 minutes until it rises.
  8. Now roll dough in circle and cut with round doughnut cutter.
  9. Now put doughnuts and holes on greased sheet.
  10. Now cover doughnuts with clean towel for 30 minutes, leave for rise until puffy.
  11. Then deep fry 2-3 doughnuts one at a time until golden.
  12. Now turn it.
  13. When doughnuts is hot, dip in vanilla glaze and keep on wire rack until glaze set.
  14. For vanilla glaze: Mix all ingredients in bowl and whisk it until smooth.
  15. Put 1 tbsp warm water more if required.
  16. Glaze should be thin,
  17. Then use it immediately.
