Prawns Biryani

  • Prawns 1/2 kg
  • Sela rice 1/2 kg
  • Garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Finely chopped garlic 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Whole coriander seeds 1 tbsp
  • All spice powder 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 2 tbsp
  • Tomatoes 4-5
  • Cloves 6-8
  • Green cardamoms 6-8
  • Mint leaves 1 bunch
  • Onion 2
  • Ghee 1 cup
  • Chinese salt 1/3 tsp
  • Salt to taste


  1. For rice: Put ghee, cloves, green cardamom and cloves in pot and roast for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Now add rice and pot.
  3. When boils comes, strain it and keep it aside.
  4. For prawns: Marinate prawns with salt and garlic paste, deep fry it and keep it aside.
  5. For masala: Put chopped garlic and ghee in pot and roast for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Now add onion and fry it.
  7. Then add half cup water, tomato, red chili powder, all spice, coriander seeds, turmeric powder and Chinese salt and roast it nicely until mixture is thick, then remove masala.
  8. For making layers: Spread masala in pot and put rice on top.
  9. Put mint leaves and prawns.
  10. Then put remaining masala, remaining rice and remaining mint leaves and simmer it.
  11. When simmer is completed, take out in dish and serve.

Prawns Biryani is tasty dish. It is prepared with same method as of other biryani dishes. Make it with your own method.
