- 10 oz frozen green beans or
- 1½ cups fresh beans chopped into ½ inch long pieces,
- ½ tsp turmeric powder,
- ¼ tsp mixture of cumin seeds,
- ½ tsp kalonji seeds
- 1 tsp prepared mustard,
- ½ tsp sugar,
- 3 tbsp oil
- Cook beans according to instruction on packet. If fresh boil till tender in salted water. Add turmeric powder to water. Drain.
- Heat oil in the saucepan. Add mixture of seeds. Fry for 1-2 minutes. Add beans, salt, sugar and mustard.
- Cook for 5 minutes on low heat. Serve
