Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • 10 oz frozen green beans or
  • 1½ cups fresh beans chopped into ½ inch long pieces,
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder,
  • ¼ tsp mixture of cumin seeds,
  • ½ tsp kalonji seeds
  • 1 tsp prepared mustard,
  • ½ tsp sugar,
  • 3 tbsp oil

Method:

  1. Cook beans according to instruction on packet. If fresh boil till tender in salted water. Add turmeric powder to water. Drain.
  2. Heat oil in the saucepan. Add mixture of seeds. Fry for 1-2 minutes. Add beans, salt, sugar and mustard.
  3. Cook for 5 minutes on low heat. Serve
