Dark Chocolate Butterscotch Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate baking chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup 60% cocoa bittersweet chocolate baking chips
  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed
  • Caramel topping can also be used (Optional)

Method:

  1. Melt unsweetened chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl; stir until smooth. Cool slightly.
  2. In another bowl, combine sugar and chocolate mixture.
  3. Stir in egg whites and vanilla. Gradually add flour to chocolate mixture. Stir in chips.
  4. Spread into a greased baking pan and bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes
  5. Cool on a wire rack.
  6. For glaze, in a microwave, melt chips and butter; stir until smooth.
  7. Immediately spread over brownies.
  8. Serve warm.

The sinfully delicious chocolate and butterscotch brownie.
