Matar Aur Keemay Ki Biryani by Zubaida Tariq

Ingredients:

  • Beef mince 1 kg
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Peeled peas 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Red chili 1 tbsp
  • Crushed cardamom 8
  • Green chilies 8
  • Mint leaves 1 bunch
  • Black pepper 8
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemons 4
  • Fresh milk 1 cup
  • Yellow food color some

For Rice:

  • Rice 2-1/2 cups
  • Mint leaves 1/2 bunch
  • Green chilies 3
  • Black peppercorn 4
  • Black cumin 1 tsp
  • White vinegar 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

For Bhagar:

  • Oil 1 cup
  • Chopped onion 3
  • Small cardamom 4

Method:

  1. Put rice, finely chopped mint leaves, black peppercorn, black cumin, salt and white vinegar, boil rice 2/4 and drain water.
  2. Now put beef mince, yogurt, finely chopped mint leaves, red chili, ginger garlic paste, crushed cardamom, black pepper, 1 lemon juice, finely chopped green chilies and salt in pot and boil mince. When water dries, close the stove.
  3. For bhagar: Heat oil and fry chopped onion and small cardamom. When onion becomes golden brown, take it out and add hot oil in mince.
  4. Now grease rice pot, make layer of half rice and put keema on top.
  5. Then half onion, 1 lemon juice and make layer of remaining rice.
  6. After that, mix yellow food color in some milk and put on top. Together add 2 lemon juice and keep on simmer.
  7. Keep on tawa after 5 minutes. In end, put fried onion and serve.
