Khata Daal Gosht by Chef Gulzar

Ingredients:

  • Mutton 1/2 kg
  • Red lentil 250 gm
  • Yellow lentil 100 gm
  • Spinach 150 gm
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Onion 2
  • Green chilies 5-6
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • All spice powder 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seed 1 tsp
  • Whole cumin 1 tsp
  • Whole red chili 4-5
  • Curry leaves 2 sticks
  • Tamarind paste 4 tbsp
  • Butter 4 tbsp
  • Oil 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. For daal: Heat oil in pan and fry onion and ginger garlic paste.
  2. Then put mutton and roast it.
  3. Add water as required, tender it and keep it aside.
  4. Then put red lentil and yellow lentil in pot.
  5. Now put red chili powder, all spice powder, salt, garlic paste and some water and leave for cook.
  6. Now put butter in pan, put finely chopped spinach and saute it nicely.
  7. Then add in lentils and cook for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Now stir khota with hands, after that, add green chilies and tamarind paste, mix it nicely, add mutton and cover it for 5 minutes.
  9. In end, take out in serving dish.
  10. For bhagar: Heat butter and oil in pan, put mustard seed, whole cumin and curry leaves and make bhagar.
  11. Then put on daal and serve.
