Kabuli Chaat by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients :

  • Chickpeas 200 grams
  • Turmeric powder 1 pinch
  • Red chili powder 1/4 tsp
  • Tomatoes chopped 2
  • Coriander leaves 1 bunch
  • Salt to taste
  • Crisp puris a few
  • Chaat masala 1-2 tbsp
  • Date and tamarind chutney 1/4 cup
  • Green chutney 1/4 cup
  • Sev 1 cup

Method :

  1. Wash and soak chickpeas overnight.
  2. Drain, add 3 cups of fresh water and little salt and pressure cook till done. Cool.
  3. Drain water and mix in turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
  4. Crush crisp puris and put in plate.
  5. Spread chickpeas on it.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes, date tamarind chutney and green chutney.
  7. Sprinkle the chaat masala, sev and coriander leaves and serve immediately.
