  • Whole chicken 1
  • Rice 2-1/2 cups
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Finely chopped onion 3
  • Lemon 4
  • Ginger ground 2 tbsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Crushed black pepper 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped green chilies 4
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Butter or Ghee 2 tbsp
  • Yellow color 1 pinch


  1. Wash chicken.
  2. Now wash rice and soak it.
  3. Heat oil in pot, fry onion until golden brown and take it out.
  4. Now put yogurt, ginger ground, all spice powder, black pepper and green chilies and roast it slightly.
  5. Fry chicken separate in wok, add in masalay and simmer it on low flame.
  6. Boil rice, put salt, all spice powder and green chilies, boil it and drain it.
  7. Grease rice pot with oil and make layer of half rice.
  8. Then keep chicken, put remaining rice and put masala on sides.
  9. Now mix yellow color in milk, put in pot and mix it.
  10. When simmered, put ghee or butter and serve hot.

Afghani Pulao is tasty rice dish. Whole chicken is used. It is prepared with different method. Must try this dish.
