Fried Prawns

Ingredients:

  • 6 King Prawns
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1tsp salt
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 beaten egg yolk
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tsp salad oil
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp red pepper
  • 1//3 cup milk
  • ¼ baking powder
  • 1 tsp water

Method:

  1. Clean the prawns but do not cut off the nails.
  2. Mix vinegar, chilli powder and salt and coat the prawns. Leave for 1 hour.
  3. In a separate bow, combine flour, beaten egg yolk, salad oil, salt, red pepper, milk, baking powder and water in a batter. Beat well and leave covered for ½ an hour.
  4. Beat 2 egg whites until stiff and gradually fold in the batter.
  5. Dip the prawns one at a time in the batter and deep fry till golden.
  6. Serve hot

Perfect delight for all occasions whether it is a cocktail party or a birthday bash.
