Chanay Ki Daal Ka Halwa by Shireen Anwer

Ingredients:

  • Gram lentil 1/2 kg
  • Sugar 1/2 kg
  • Ghee 1-1/2 cup
  • Milk 1 kg
  • Crushed cardamom 4
  • Green cardamom 1 tsp
  • Khoya 1/2 cup
  • Peeled & sliced almonds 3 tbsp
  • Pistachios 3 tbsp
  • Yellow food color 1 pinch
  • Silver paper as required

Method:

  1. Boil soaked gram lentil in milk until tender and milk dries.
  2. Now cool it and grind daal.
  3. Heat ghee and fold crushed cardamom and grinded lentil. Then fry it nicely for 30 minutes until light brown.
  4. Then add sugar and cook it.
  5. When halwa seems to be thin, fry it nicely until ghee leave edges.
  6. Now add khoya, fry more for 10-15 minutes and take out in platter.
  7. Then sprinkle almonds and pistachios. Keep silver paper and cut into pieces.
