Ingredients:

  • Gram lentil 3 cups
  • Sugar 2 cups
  • Dry milk 2 cups
  • Small cardamom 8
  • Raisins 15
  • Almonds 10
  • Pistachio 15
  • Walnuts 1/2 cup
  • Oil/Ghee 2 cups

Method:

  1. Soak almonds and pistachios in hot water, peel it and grind finely.
  2. Now wash gram lentil with hot water, soak for 1 hour and boil it.
  3. When lentil is boiled, grind it.
  4. Then heat oil in karahi pan and put small cardamom.
  5. When fragrance comes, put lentil and roast it. When color of lentil is golden, put sugar and milk.
  6. When sugar is cooked, put peeled and chopped walnuts and raisins, roast for 5 minutes and close stove.
  7. Now grease wide tray and spread halwa.
  8. Sprinkle almonds and pistachio on top. When cool, cut into small pieces.
  9. Chanay ki daal ka halwa is ready.
