Spaghetti Pie by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:

  • Spaghetti 1 packet
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Grated cheese 1/3 cup
  • Egg beaten 2
  • Mutton on Beef mince 1/2 kg
  • Chopped onion 1
  • Chopped capsicum
  • Clove garlic minced 1
  • Chopped tomatoes 1 cup
  • Tomato paste 1 cup
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Dried oregano 1 tsp
  • Cottage cheese 1 cup
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup

Method:

  1. Cook and drain spaghetti.
  2. Stir in butter, parmesan cheese and eggs, while spaghetti is hot.
  3. Form spaghetti mixture into crust in buttered 10 inch pie plate.
  4. In pan cook beef or mutton mince, onion, capsicum and garlic.
  5. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar and oregano. Heat through.
  6. Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti crust then pour in beef and tomato mixture.
  7. Bake at 175 degrees C for 20 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over top of pie then bake for 5 minutes longer, until cheese melts.
