Kofta Chana Gravy by Chef Gulzar

Ingredients:

For Meat Balls:

  • Beef mince 1/2 kg
  • Onion 1
  • Egg 1
  • Bread slices 2-3
  • Finely chopped garlic 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Crushed black pepper 1 tsp
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Oil for deep fry
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves for garnish

For Chana Masala:

  • Gram lentil 250 gm
  • Onion 2
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Finely chopped tomatoes 2-3
  • Tomato paste 1/2 cup
  • All spice powder 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies 5-6
  • Crushed cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Crushed black pepper 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves 1/2 bunch
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. For meat balls: Put beef mince, onion, egg, bread slices, garlic, red chili powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder and salt in chopper and make paste.
  2. Now make koftay.
  3. Then heat oil in pan, fry koftay on low flame and keep it aside.
  4. For chana gravy: Wash gram lentil, clean it and boil hard with turmeric.
  5. Then heat oil in pan and fry onion until brown.
  6. Then add ginger garlic paste and roast it.
  7. Then add all spice powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, green chilies, cumin seeds, black pepper and salt and roast for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Masala dries, put tomato paste and chopped tomatoes and mix it nicely.
  9. Masala cooks, mix boiled lentil and koftay and cook until lentil tender.
  10. Masala should be mixed nicely and gravy becomes thick.
  11. Now take out in dish, garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
