Bengali Fish Biryani

Ingredients:

  • Fish 750 gm
  • Crushed green chilies 10
  • Crushed ginger  inch
  • Garlic cloves 10
  • Turmeric and Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Brown onion 1/2 cup
  • Tomatoes slice 2
  • Cumin 2 tbsp
  • Mustard paste 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves 20
  • Salt 2 tsp
  • Vinegar 2 tbsp
  • Dried apricots 10-12
  • Mint leaves 3 tbsp
  • Boiled rice 1/2 kg
  • Salt 2 tsp
  • Milk 1/2 cup
  • Kewra 1 tsp
  • Yellow color 1 pinch
  • Oil 1/2 cup

Method:

  1. Marinate fish with green chilies, ginger, garlic, turmeric, red chili powder and salt for 30 minutes.
  2. Now heat oil, put mustard paste, cumin, curry leaves, brown onion and tomatoes and cook it.
  3. When tender, add fish, fry for 10 minutes, then turn it and fry more for 5 minutes.
  4. For assemble: Spread boiled rice in pan and put fish masala.
  5. Now cover with dried apricots, mint leaves and more rice and put milk, kewra, yellow color and 2 tbsp ghee.
  6. Then put fish pieces on top and simmer it for 10 minutes.
  7. Then take out in dish and serve.

Bengali Fish Biryani is Bengal dish. It is tasty biryani. Fish is marinated and simmered with rice & milk. Try this biryani and serve with salad.
