Balti Gosht

Ingredients:

  • Mutton 1 kg
  • Crushed red chilies 1-1/2 tbsp
  • Crushed black pepper 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Whole coriander 2 tbsp
  • White cumin 1 tbsp
  • Kasoori methi 1 tbsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Onion seeds 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds few
  • Curry leaves few
  • Ginger powder 2 tbsp
  • Finely chopped onion 2
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Lemons 2-3
  • Long chopped green chilies 4
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves 1/2 bunch

Method:

  1. Heat ghee in pot and put fenugreek seeds.
  2. When aroma comes, put onion, fry until golden brown, take it out and spread on paper so that it becomes crispy.
  3. Now put mutton, salt and ginger, roast for 5 minutes, put 2 cups hot water and cover it.
  4. When meat tender, put onion, curry leaves, red chili, cumin, coriander and all spice and roast it nicely.
  5. Then put kasoori methi, onion seeds and black pepper and simmer it for 10 minutes.
  6. Then put green chilies, coriander leaves and lemon juice and serve with hot naan.

Balti Gosht is delicious dish. It is type of curry, cooked in balti (steel-wok). It is prepared with mutton and served with hot naan. You can make it with beef.
