Zafrani Koftay Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Mince 1/2 kg
  • Onion 2+2
  • Ginger garlic 1 tbsp
  • All spice 1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp
  • Roasted chickpeas 2 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds 2 tbsp
  • Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Saffron 1/4 tsp
  • Kewra 1 tsp
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp +1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp + 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Roasted & crushed cumin 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves 3 tbsp
  • Green chilies 3-4

Method:

  1. For koftay: Boil half mince on 1 cup water, when water dries, take it out.
  2. Now put raw mince, boiled mince, 1/2 tsp all spice, roasted chickpeas, poppy seeds, 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp red chili powder in chopper and chop it.
  3. Now make balls and shallow fry in oil.
  4. For gravy: Fry 2 onions and grind it.
  5. Now fry with ginger garlic, coriander powder, cumin, 1 tsp red chili, 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp all spice, yogurt and 1 cup water.
  6. Then put koftay and simmer it.
  7. Then put coriander leaves, green chilies, all spice, kewra and saffron and serve.

Zafrani Koftay is new kofta dish. It is prepared with different method. Koftay is prepared with boiled mince & raw mince, chopped, balls made and fried. Then simmered with yogurt gravy and served.
