Kashmiri Chicken by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients for Kashmiri Chicken:

  • Chicken 1 kg
  • Sliced almonds 2 tbsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Ground onion 1 cup
  • Minced garlic 5 cloves
  • Green cardamom 6
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Cashew nuts 1/2 cup
  • Tomato 2
  • Fresh ginger 1

Method:

  1. Heat oil, add the ground onion and stir until it changes its color.
  2. Mix garlic and ginger continue to fry till light brown.
  3. Mix the cardamom and chicken and cook for about 15-20 minutes on medium high flame.
  4. Mix yogurt, tomatoes, red chili powder.
  5. Keep cooking and stir continuously for 20-30 minutes or till the chicken is fully cooked.
  6. Add ground cashew and cook for another 3 minutes.
  7. Garnish with almond slices and serve.
